Chemo Sucks

Tess' mom - Margaret, shares her thoughts on cancer and chemotherapy.  The first few days after chemo are crummy - nausea and the blahs knock you on your a.....!  Now, its day ten AFTER and I'm getting back my upbeat spirit.  I'm knitting again.  And reading again.  My number one daughter has been visiting over Mother's Day weekend; its a vacation for her, from her 5 children.

Day Four of Chemo

Mom had her neulasta shot today; it boosts her white cell count so she doesn't get infections.   After 3 days of chemo, she's  finally complaining about the blahs (feeling mighty low).  Now for 2 weeks of just plain r-e-s-t to recover.
Going in to see the plastic surgeon, Paul Kreymerman, 5/5/09.  He's the one who 'created' the flap using abdominal muscle to fill in the grapefruit sized tumor that was removed 12/15/08.

What Do You Know About Rotties?

I'm Tess and I'm 6 years old.  I have taken obedience classes since I was a puppy because dad heard that Rotties had to be reminded constantly of the boundaries.   I know words like sit, stay, come and heel.  I get real squirrely when I hear let's go, or walk, ride, and lets eat.
Most of the time I do what I want because my 'mom' Margaret is a softie but my 'dad' is not, so I have to watch my p's and q's when I'm out with him.  I like to play with toys but only when mom and dad are home.  I refuse to fetch or give up any toy I have in my mouth but, if dad insists, he can stick a finger down my throat to get stuff out or poke pills in.  I don't bark much as that is undignified but I have to woof occasionally to let  mom or dad know when I need more water or a toy is out of my reach.

Tess First Blog

What a day!  Took my owner, Gil, for a bike ride first thing.  Whew!  We haven't been doing bike rides for awhile so I was pooped.  We'll probably do another one this afternoon so I'm signing off - gotta get some rest.
